XD Gun Parts nickel plating is extremely wear resistant and offers excellent rust protection. It is very hard, measuring between 66 to 70 HRC. All surfaces are equally plated with micro-smooth nickel that allows for a natural low friction surface that creates lubricity resulting in smoother and faster gun operation. Nickel plating permeates the microscopic surface of the base metal creating 100% bonding characteristics that will not allow for any chipping, flaking or separation from the base metal.
